Description:
This study evaluated a newly developed, fully automatic algorithm (3D-MSPECT) for quantifying left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (EF) from gated myocardial perfusion SPECT. The algorithm’s performance was compared against contrast ventriculography (CVG) and an established quantification program (QGS) across a broad range of image types and patient conditions.

Clinical Relevance:
The new 3D-MSPECT algorithm enables accurate, automated quantification of LV function even in challenging cases such as large perfusion defects or hypercontractile ventricles. Its robustness and close correlation with invasive CVG results support its use for reliable, operator-independent functional assessment in clinical practice.
